Hurricane Dean passed to the south of the island of Hispanola but according to published reports, Haiti did not received too much damage.
Since Dean passed, friends of the Valcin's in Austin have not been able to establish contact with them. However, given the fragile electrical grid in Haiti, this is not surprising even if they only received some decent winds and rain. So, please keep the family in your prayers.
An update to this blog will be made when contact is established.
